VERY Brief Background!
System Of A Down are a hard-hitting full-on rock/metal band
who frequently, through their music, unleash a driving attack at the government with songs like "Boom!" and "B.Y.O.B",
which both comment on the government and their apparent lack of respect for human life.
"B.Y.O.B"
has two lines in (that are repeated several times) that say, "Why don't presidents fight the war? Why do they always send
the poor?"...That one really doesn't need explaining now, does it?
"Boom!", however, speaks in
general about a lot of subjects (e.g. poverty, starvation, globalization...), but -stating the obvious- the meaning of
the song is about bombs and how the government spend billions of pounds forming these "Death Showers" to kill
(...the god your child had born?...) when they could use that money to help feed the 4000 children who die per hour...
